"Obviously, everyone knows Coach Pop and everything's he's accomplished in this league, as well as the Spurs. I look forward to filling a hole here and making some things happen out on the court, putting myself in the best position for my future in this league and for my family," Crowder told the San Antonio Times upon being traded to the silver-and-black squad. Jae holds a 107.2 defensive rating for his career, and that is pretty darn good. He has been the spark of several teams that turned their seasons around, able to hit the open 3PT shot and harass opposing players. Crowder is also a serviceable rebounder, flexible at both forward positions, a quick learner to team schemes, proven by his duration in the league especially after playing for a handful of teams over the years and the professionalism that entails.
"We're very excited to have Jae join our championship pursuits. We know what he brings to our basketball team, and we couldn't be happier," Coach Pop told the media at the official press conference. Crowder, as per usual, will don #99 for San Antonio, and may see some time in the starting lineup, given the Spurs in-flux roster due to new season additions, with more possibly on the horizon, despite the team's early success thus far in the season.
Welcome to the Alamo City, Jae Crowder! Your talents will be valued here, on the hardwood!
